About
Welcome to The Workshop Vegetarian Café, a culinary gem nestled at 296 Pemberton Ave in North Vancouver. With a mission to offer delicious, plant-based dining, this café has quickly become a staple for vegan and vegetarian enthusiasts alike. As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I am excited to delve into what makes The Workshop a must-visit destination.
The café stands out in the North Vancouver area, where options for plant-based eating can often be limited. As customer Josephine Ma noted in her glowing review, The Workshop is more than just another eatery; it’s a haven for those seeking meat-free delights. Here, you won't just find typical vegetarian fare, but a creative menu that showcases thoughtful, flavorful dishes.
What truly sets The Workshop Vegetarian Café apart is their dedication to quality ingredients and strong community connections. The friendly staff goes above and beyond, as illustrated by a delightful customer experience shared by Lraep, who praised the café's attentive service. This level of care reflects the café's commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The ambiance is minimalistic yet stylish, providing a comfortable space for diners to enjoy their meals. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, The Workshop's environment enhances the dining experience.
Moreover, the café stocks a selection of ready-made dishes and pantry staples, allowing you to enjoy the convenience of plant-based eating at home. As noted by Lauren Grattan, options like their cool noodle dishes are especially refreshing during warmer months.
In summary, The Workshop Vegetarian Café is more than just a place to eat; it's a nourishing space for the body and soul. With flavors that impress, a menu that surprises, and a commitment to quality, it promises a delightful experience for anyone seeking plant-based goodness. I highly encourage you to explore what The Workshop has to offer—the perfect spot for those on the North Shore or anyone passionate about vegetarian cuisine.
“ Within North Vancouver and West Vancouver there are very few options for plant based eating. The Workshop Vegetarian is the only restaurant I know of on that side of town that is a dedicated Vegan/ Vegetarian restaurant. I am so happy that I finally got to try it! (And I got to use another plant based deals coupon for it too!) Spicy Tan Tan Ramen Miso Glazed Eggplant Veggie Sandwich Croissant Breakfast Sandwich Marinara Grilled Cheese Sandwich Pumpkin Spice Latte Beetroot Latte Mocha My husband loved his Spicy Tan Tan Ramen, and when my meat eating husband eats something plant based and actually likes it, that is a sure sign of good food. He tried the Miso Glazed Eggplant Veggie Sandwich and gave his seal of approval to that as well. I don't know what it is about Breakfast sandwiches that's got our daughter hooked on them so much but I am definitely not complaining about it as she's learning to widen her taste palate and eat foods she's never really eaten much before, thanks to her new love of Vegan breakfast sandwiches. This one at Workshop Vegetarian was no exception to the rule. She loved this one, and the greens were not a detterent! Grilled Cheese Sandwich is a simple dish that I could make at home so I don't usually order it, but a vegan version of it is a real treat as we don't often have Vegan cheese at home. I absolutely loved this Vegan Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The cheese was just as ooey and gooey as a regular Grilled Cheese Sandwich and it tasted so good with the Marinara sauce! They also have a fridge and freezer section where you can buy ready made food to go, or plant based foods to cook at home. I think I may do a bit of shopping on my next visit! This place is my new favourite on the North Shore, and I can't wait to go back again! Where are your favourite spots on the North Shore for plant based eating? “ Ordered a very tasty vegetarian ramen in rich mushroom broth, yummy! Chose Oat Milk to go with my Matcha Latte. Deco is minimum but stylish. Extremely friendly servers. Hubby dropped his wallet in the restaurant & the lady server rushed out of the restaurant to return it to him. Our hearty thanks to her again! ”
“ I think this is the best place to have ramen. The soup is heavenly and especially when you press the veggies into the soup, and the soup just wilts the veggies a little bit, it's even better! Their pastries are very good too. I got the cinnamon roll, even with icing on top it wasn't that sweet at all. Definitely will go back ”
“ Stopped in for an extremely early dinner before the ferry and was not disappointed! During summer heatwave they offer 2 of their noodle dishes cold. We had both the tan tan ramen & rice noodles. Lots of great natural pantry items in their store section. ”
“ Unbelievably tasty food!!! OMG! This is the BEST vegetarian eatery I've visited besides Acorn! The handmade udon and ramen noodles are to die for!!! Three little embellishments on each plate make the food as attractive visually as it is gastronomically! My food had crunchy, fine hair like red vegetable decoration that looked like saffron, but was red! The Japanese influence on the food is what makes it take delightful. The prices range from 12 to 16 making it accessable to the majority! I am thrilled to find a huge selection of gluten free, vegan baked goodies on offer too! ”
“ Incredibly friendly local eatery. Food was outstanding. Tons of incredible plant-based options: bao buns and ramen - so good! My son loved the pecan cran grilled cheese. He said it was the best sandwich he's ever had. The carrot cake was spectacular. The chai tea was creamy and balanced (not too sweet or spicy - just right). Staff was so friendly and welcoming. A must stop! ”
“ This place absolutely SLAPS! I had the gochujang soy wrap, the miso glazed eggplant sandwich, the chocolate mochi and an Americano. All on point, right down to the java. A bit on the pricey side, but it do be like that today, especially vegan dining. 10/10 WILL RETURN! ”
“ Came here for brunch shortly after they opened at 10 am on a Saturday. Had their Tan Tan Ramen (non-spicy version). It was tasty! The gluten-free version comes with rice noodles instead of the regular homemade noodles. The butternut squash broth was tasty! It was definitely on the thinner, lighter side, and not as rich as your traditional ramen broth (which we expected). The kale and nut medley were good textural additions! They also sell a variety of plant-based treats at the front counter, and refrigerated and pantry items. I picked up a rice crispy treat to-go. Staff bring you the food, but diners clear their own table. Friendly service and there is lots of street parking in the area! I came to use my Plant Curious coupon, but also knew of the cafe previously having purchased their mochi cake mix (by The Plant Based Workshop) at an event last year. I don't live in the area, but would recommend and would be happy to return again! ”
